Dear new vendor/entrepreneur newbie,

We understand starting a new business can be tough and difficult to navigate.

Here are 4 things you should work on as a new business owner.
1. Have a strong WHY

Your 'why' encompasses the reason you are opening a business. Don't say:
"I want to make money"
"I want to be my own boss"
"I like fashion"
"I like food so having a food business is nice"

You will run into a problem in the long run.

Rather make it:
"To create a better everyday life for many people"
"We exist to create a future where everyone can live healthy and fulfilled live"
"To help people perform better, think faster and live better"
"To inspire healthier communities by connecting people to real food"
2. Know your TARGET AUDIENCE

We have said this a lot. Your target audience are EVERYTHINGGG

They determine what you do and what you don't.

You can't sell to everybody. You have to know who you are communicating with.

Not having a target is like speaking to the wind.
Once you can determine your audience, you know:
-where to find them,
-the language they speak,
-how much they are willing to pay,
-their likes and dislikes, and
-what influences them.

Imagine serving rice to someone that wants swallow, they wouldn't like that.
3.Give VALUE

It's not enough to say to do something well, you have to show it by helping out with your expertise.

This is why people first speak to:
@OgbeniDipo when it comes to job seeking
@aproko_doctor when it comes to health

Why?
Because they have supported us over time
This is why we find it amusing when people come on here saying
"we can help you create better social media content", "we can help your skin glow", or "we can help grow your business"

when they have not given a single advice or tutorial on the TL. They will be fine "las las".
What we are saying is give value.

Show that you are worth it. Show that people can part with their hard earned money and would not regret it.

Mind you, VALUE doesn't necessarily mean giving tips. Find more explanation in our value series on IGTV here http://instagram.com/bublagos
4. Build a COMMUNITY around your business

Do this and watch your business flourish. This goes back to your WHY and target audience

@instablog9ja is for "gistlovers"*clears throat*,
@diaryofa9jagirl is majorly for everyday female millennial,
@_DammyB_ is for vendors.
This is why we find it sad when people who sell jerseys JUST sell jerseys. They are sitting on a billion dollar industry with loads of fans and devout followers all over the world. It should be more than just jerseys

Same applies to people who sell cars. You have so much content
We hope this thread was able to inspire you and help you put your best foot forward. We love you and hope you business flourishes.
