Just been having a DM "chat" with one of ya and was asked (on the subject as we were discussing the GTO) "Whats the coolest thing you've ever done?"
I'm fortunate that my day job has led to being in such awesome situations, I'm also fortunate to have some super cool friends who live in a very different world than I do.
There's dozens and dozens of things I've been lucky enough to do, so many that I can't pick a fav. Some i can't repeat cos they involve people I can't talk about ;-)
One of my fav "cool" things was...

I was away with the day job somewhere rather nice, due to a mix up and being RAF I was put into a rather beautiful hotel on a beach ;-)
I'd not long split up with my "Ex" and it turned out that it was a couples only hotel, it was a bit like having salt rubbed in the wounds. Everyone there was on an anniversary or honeymoon and all very loved up
On the first night there I met a very lovely American lady who was there by herself as well. Sat in the bar that night chatting to her and had a great laugh. I got a bit drunk, we hardly talked about each other and I vaguely mentioned I was a photographer for the Armed Forces
She told me she owned and ran a bar in LA (She does... found out when i visited her a year later she was also a Sports Illustrated model)

The following morning I was up early to go do photo shizzle for some Pixelated Faced types
2 days later the photo shizzle was all done and a Pixelated Faced boss thanked me for the photo shizzle and said he'd sort my ride back to the hotel sorted out
The ride turned out to be a Blackhawk helicopter, complete with refuelling probe, wingless with weapon pods. Side door gatling guns... it looked phenomenal!
As we flew back, I was expecting to go back to the small airfield id been picked up from, we skimmed over the sea and I spotted my hotel and took a photo of it from the air, crew asked what id taken photo of and i said that was my hotel
A quick bit of radio chat and a tight turn later and it's landing at the end of the beach, 50m from hotel, much to the amazement of several honeymooning couples
I jumped out, had my camera bag and "overnight bag" and walked to the hotel as the Blackhawk lifted about 10ft, put the nose down and skimmed off back across the sea
As I got back to the hotel, a bikini clad LA bar owner sitting on a sun lounger says "Are you James Bond?" :-)
I think that has to be my "coolest" moment ;-)
