I’m currently reading ‘Why Does He Do That?’ by Lundy Bancroft, & it strikes me how the modern trans rights activist movement really mirrors the entitled attitudes of an abuser.
When our rights as a sex class are being eroded, we’re supposed to suck it in & take it. When we raise our concerns or vocally disagree, that is ‘violence’, not our own self-defence against important protections irt our safety being stripped.
But TRAs can say whatever vile things they want to us, under the guise of defending *their* rights, & that is completely acceptable in their eyes because their rhetoric towards us can never be harmful. We’re not ‘deserving’ of any respect.
Classic reversing of aggression & self-defence to suit their agenda. When they say things, it’s always self-defence - ours is always unfounded aggression.
It's a very worthwhile read, for anyone interested. I have a PDF copy that I can give out too. Very readable, dispels a lot of common myths (many that the media perpetuates too), & uses real life examples from the author's work to demonstrate the abuser's mentality.
Interestingly, I just got accused in a quote retweet of doing exactly what I claim this movement does lol. They really think women defending sex-based rights is on the same level of moral offence of trying to take them away, despite detrimental effects.
