THREAD: Christian Conversion & Education in India (1/23):

Many #Christians in #India often thump their chest about #missionaries who supposedly introduced modern education to illiterate Indians & save no vehemence to blame #Brahmins - how about a little research into this claim?
(2/23):

#Schopenhauer cites the Asiatic Journals of 1826 (verbatim reports of Debates at the East-India house) & notes in his essays that after years of #missionary work, there were less than 300 "bribed souls" living in India who were also noted for their extreme immorality.
(3/23):

Contrary to the left and #Christian narrative, the #Brahmins were actually impossible to penetrate and often "shrugged" off the #Bible when presented to them.

It was a nightmare and #missionaries were met with defeat from all sides as noted in the journal.
(4/23):

Because of this stance, the #Bapist #missionaries found it IMPOSSBILE to penetrate the Hindu society & were utterly dismayed at the fact that people just won't give up their murtis & customs; instead derailed the preachers with hooting and sent them away.

READ & LEARN!
(5/23):

Unless the priestly class gave instructions on theology, cosmology or metaphysics - the Hindu society just wouldn't accept them as 'shabda' or scripture.

Do you now realise why Christians hate Brahmins? The instructions for conversion just wouldn't come from them.
(6/23):

Is it any wonder that #MaxMueller, who translated Vedas, openly expresses his primal goal of uprooting the very soul of this land through his work?

English translations of Hindu Scriptures by Christians were an attempt to dismantle dharma & make way for #Christ.
(7/23):

It is for this specfic reason #missionaries switched to 'Modern Education', as Schopenhauer states, to "get them young" : for the seeds of faith are sown early!

The House specifically remarks that education is a "solvent" to "diffuse" Christianity into India.
(8/23):

The House says it must be the DUTY of the govt to convert the Hindus; successive failures of the Dutch & the Portuguese are attributed to a #Baptists interpretation - narrow minded preachers can't accomplish this task.

Let a Catholic also step in and try his share!
(9/23):

The above is also a silent admission of the erstwhile impending truth that Hindus would rebel for freedom unless they were culturally dominated and conquered through religion; the Dutch and Portuguese had already failed despite moderate success.
(10/23):

The East India House deliberates on how the Indian education system, institutions & culture had to be dissolved first before they could even think of proposing an alternative in Christianity.

Such steps were rarely needed in Abrahamization of other countries.
(11/23):

The effect of this was most popularly echoed in a round table conference in 1931 when when #Gandhi said:

"The beautiful tree of education was cut down by you British. Therefore today India is far more illiterate than it was 100 years ago."
(12/23):

Dharmpal (Gandhian thinker, philosopher) digged into British records and churned out a remarkable work that sheds light.

The prime object of the Christians was to destory & dehumanize Indian culture & civilization by the pen - and they did it for decades at a stretch.
(13/23):

British writer James Mill provided the ground work and set the tone for all, and any historical framework that would be written henceforth regarding India in general.

Bharata was to be put to the sword through the pen; this is the modern origin of 'secular' history.
(14/23):

Just take a look at this man's opinion on Hindus.

Do you still doubt why the inferioirty complex is deep in our society?

Far worse, can someone dehumanize a race more vehemently?
(15/23):

At every step, you'd see European #Christians placing themselves on the high pedestal with a superiority complex, while terming the #Hindus as 'dastardly' & 'slavish' - & YET accusing the same people of importing the concept of 'caste' - which is Portuguese in origin.
(16/23):

Alexander Walker circa 1820, notes that missionary education system, was nothing but a MERE COPY OF THE HINDU SYSTEM OF EDUCATION & it was acknowledged by the missionaries themselves.

He also lists in great detail the numerous sciences being taught to kids early on.
(17/23):

Did you read that?

Walker makes a very important note:

NO PEOPLE MORE JUSTLY APPREACIATED EDUCATION THAN THE HINDUS & had themselves formed insitutions to counter the systematic attack on them.

We are the pioneers in the education and inquiry.

Walkers' words!
(18/23):

Were Hindu Schools discriminatory & bad? NO!

In the South, so called 'Upper Caste' Hindus were hardly 20% of the students (exception being Telugu districts), while the majority of students comprised of those who are today classified as SC, ST, Dalit & OBC.
(19/23):

Eg: In Bengali Hindu schools, every section was appropriately represented.

Scholars from 16 of the "lowest castes" in Hindu schools OUTNUMBERED the ones in Missionary schools.

Brahmin scholars in Bihar = 15%.

Did we really need Mother Teresa to school our kids?
(20/23):

Available data shows that Tamil, Telugu and Kannada schools were large in number & along with science and math, all traditional literature such as the Hindu epics were core of the syllabus.

These were wiped out and an English Secular medium was introduced.
(21/23):

One look at the indigenous literature being taught is enough evidence of why the British would consider cutting down the 'Beautiful Tree' as Gandhi put it.

Could #Jesus ever make his inroads with the wisdom of saints and poets of India in the way?

NO CHANCE!
(22/23):

Higher learning was open to ALL.

Astronomy & Medicine was studied heavily by all sorts of castes. In fact, the best surgeons were the #Shudras.

Acharyas led an acetic life, dedicating themselves to theology and metaphysics - thank them once for dharma still lives.
(23/23):

I can go on forever, but there's just too many things unsavoury about our history.

Maybe someday @TIinExile or @missionkaali could work on bringing out scholarly work on our lost past and the wilful dieceit experienced by us through those who enslaved us.
