I sent out a tweet yesterday out of overall concern for myself and 37 other people in the same classroom for hours and there were individuals who chose to belittle me and try to intimidate me to be silent.

I refuse to let this happen. I won't let this happen. (1/8)
If you feel you can try to intimidate me into silence, then I feel sorry for you and your own insecurities. I feel sorry for what you believe in and the delusional reality you are choosing to accept.

I won't ever stop advocating for what I believe in. (2/8)
The reality is, my twitter account is a reflection of my private identity, and if what I tweet inconveniences you, then as far as I am concerned, that isn't my problem.

In UCP Alberta, I'm allowed to advocate for pipeline funding, but not education funding. (3/8)
In UCP Alberta, I'm supposed to tell our ministers how great they're doing at their job, not criticizing them for squandering billions in less than two years.

In UCP Alberta, I'm supposed to bite my tongue and not criticize what I see as a private citizen. (4/8)
In UCP Alberta, I'm supposed to take it because I'm also a public employee and any sort of advocating is just pandering for extra dollars they think I "don't need."

In UCP Alberta, we're supposed to deny facts and have a hatred of science and research. (5/8)
But most importantly, in UCP Alberta, we're supposed to have a seething hatred for our public institutions.

That's what passes as normal to people who think they can intimidate me into silence.

Well, it's not happening anytime soon. (6/8)
If you feel that you have to attack others because you are fearful of hearing what's actually going on in the real world, then that's your problem. But I'm not going to engage with you and I most certainly don't have to defend who I am as a public citizen. (7/8)
Who I vote for is a private thing. What my bio says on twitter is a reflection of my PERSONAL feelings.

And if you don't believe that, then I don't know what to tell you. (8/8)
