Manchester United still doesn’t have any high-quality defensive midfielder. Matic’s performance is inconsistent, same goes for McTominy. I still think Manchester United need a defensive midfielder who would strengthen the team and make the midfield more stable.

A trio of Van De Beek - Bruno Fernandez - Paul Pogba would be strong in the attack, but none of them can perform a defensive role, and this would let the center-backs complete exposed to the opposition’ attacking force. This was a problem for Manchester United last season

If they don’t find a solution to this, then they will suffer a lot defensively, especially with Maguire’s mistakes at the back and De gea’s inconsistency!
