was flicking through some mr honesty episodes on my lunch break for Li Zhe scenes, which turned into looking for Li Zhe and xiao-Bai scenes, so here, have some highlights.
extremely attached to the fact that whenever there is trouble xiao-Bai comes running, this is from ep 6 with the altercation between Li Zhe and his dad, look at how xiao-Bai is touching him.
(first on the scene too, a couple of seconds ahead of the nurse.)
there’s MORE TOUCHING too, xiao-Bai barely lets go during this scene, he even helps Li Zhe up, it’s a lot.
and then! faced with a crying Li Zhe, he tries to comfort him! Xiao-Bai you are too good.
moving on to ep 9, look at them out for a little walk in the woods together.
Li Zhe this is ... definitely one way to look at your assistant after admitting that when you were here at the age of 15 you didn’t expect to see the next morning.
and this! is definitely a choice! on xiao-Bai’s part to look at him back all melancholy and sympathetic.
also: please observe xiao-Bai being a good and dutiful assistant ensuring that Li Zhe doesn’t whack his head on the roof of the car door as he gets out.
help me I am back with more screencaps, look at xiao-Bai getting Li Zhe a glass of wine whilst Li Zhe fixes Xu Yiren’s watch.

I mean what way to interpret this is there other than? If you did for me what you did for Xu Yiren, I’d choose you? That Yiren is wrong in her evaluation of why Li Zhe is doing this and xiao-Bai wouldn’t assume the worst of him?
god this is probably why Li Zhe continues to be terrible at romancing Xu Yiren his only source of advice thinks that everything he’s doing sounds terribly romantic.
but also look at his little dejected face when Li Zhe says he’s talking too much because obviously his romantic overtures are not enough if Yiren doesn’t like them.

... can we talk about the fact that he matches Li Zhe’s furniture for a sec? can we? cause that’s a choice.
one long suffering assistant who has definitely dealt with a drunk Li Zhe before, including picking up all the bottles of alcohol off the floor. he is USED TO IT.
(please count the bottles of alcohol in that shot. there’s like, two bottles of champagne, a decanter of whiskey, two bottles of wine, a bottle of cointreau I’m pretty sure and another bottle I can’t identify by sight alone and THATS WHAT I CAN SEE.)
he has already rearranged the meeting so Li Zhe wouldn’t be sleep deprived and hung over, man, Li Zhe, please tell me you pay this guy a whole bunch for dealing with your bullshit.
I know I made a point in the fic of xiao-Bai thinking that, obviously, Li Zhe is superior to Fang Zhiyou but like! I’d forgotten! That he actually just STRAIGHT UP SAYS IT IN THE SHOW.
