They gave 45 children aged about 10 years old this drug.
This is what it did to them:
Low blood pressure (may lead to fainting)
Low potassium ( may lead to weakness, fatigue, muscle craps, heart rhythm changes, constipation etc)
Vomiting, stomach pain, headache, loss of sleep/
Dizziness, skin difficulties.

& it didn't make them less autistic.

But now, 45 children are living with whatever hellish memories they have of this drug.

Now, the checklist for 'are you not autistic any more' is a fascinating one. For example, the Repetitive Behaviour Scale/
This decides that autistic people are not to use
Stimming (repetitive movement/sound which helps us self-regulate and is actually useful for us).
Any use of an object that they don't like, e.g. playing the Wrong Way with a toy.
Being too neat
Counting things.
Having collections/
Needing a bedtime routine.
Needing to know we can cope with whatever lies at the end of a journey.
Communicating in an autistic way.
Wanting things to be where we can find them.
Walking in an autistic way.
Expecting people to be on time/
Being a specialist in a subject.
Forming a fondness for (say) a particular toy.
Analysing how things move.

These are all Things We Must Stop By Drugging The Autistic Children (no matter what it does to them).

This is ethically bankrupt.
I don't want autistic children used as ways to boost drug sales for shareholders any more.

Kindly stop doing it.

And if you are giving consent for this research, kindly stop doing that too.

Thank you.
Remember none of the children gave consent.
None of the children asked to be made less autistic.

There were other outcomes desired after use of the normalisation enforcement drug.

The children were also expected to:/
Play the non-autistic way, not a way that is designed to help autistic children learn and flourish.

Be more liked by other children.

Be more social and join in with big groups.

Be quiet.

Still not joking. These are the actual aims of the drugs.
I cannot find a word in here about asking the children how they feel.
About checking for long term effects of any kind, physical or mental.

Take an autistic child. Make 'em like me. Experiment. Discard.

What on earth are we doing?
http://annsautism.blogspot.com/2019/01/autism-some-vital-research-links.html Some of the modern research, for those that like to live in 2020 and not 1940.
And, for those thinking, "...but we're improving the quality of life for autistic children by making them non-autistic!", try this. Look at the categories. Original at https://autisticnotweird.com/2018survey/
Thousands of people responded.
Autistic people with learning disabilities etc included
And here's the one that tells us what's really going on. Autistic people generally don't want a 'cure' (I respect individual choice). But look at the responses from their family. This isn't about improving our lives at all. This is largely about pleasing carers.
"I didn't order this child. Make me a new one"?
As a grand finale for the thread, I present you with the side effects list of this very very dangerous drug, which is not licensed for use on children.
How much do you have to fear having an autistic child, to persuade you to give your child this drug?

My goodness me. These are children, not mistakes.
Just get out and meet some of us.
It's not hard to find us.
We're 1 in 30 of the neighbourhood.

No, we don't want to be non-autistic [exceptions apply]
Find out why.
