Verbally abusing fellow leftists will ensure the unraveling of the movement. I& #39;ve been called a lot of explicit names by people because i had a teacher for a mother and kneejerk over-explain things. Especially while apologizing.
A lot of us will have odd ticks. Unpopular opinions. Misunderstandings. Maybe even people having a bad day. I have seen about half of the cancel threads "eww i have ## mutuals" and have been sent DMs requesting I unfollow others, usually over a misunderstanding.
If the left continues to eat itself you can kiss our futures goodbye. If you are reading this, think back to the cancels you participated in. Did you really look into the scenario? Keep in mind there will be agent provocature trying to keep us infighting as well.
One of the most important things we must learn that the right already has is that you can have disagreements without breaking up whatever coalition you are trying to build. A lot of us are on the same side.
Did someone mansplain? Was someone slightly misogynistic or mysandristic? Did they make a joke in poor taste? People cannot change overnight. It takes months of concerted effort or years of passive effort to change inherent behaviors. We need to learn the forgiveness we preach.
This is very important for the ideological purists among us. I know many have a very strict view of how we are allowed to interact with each other. Think about that for a second. Sound familiar? Very conservative way of acting. If you see this happening, say something.
If you& #39;ve made it this far i have a request. I don& #39;t usually ask things of other& #39;s like this. Please share this thread. Even if people see it and snort derisively at it they will have the kernal in their mind. It is an important message. Thank you.
Others have been taking notice as well. This is good news. With the craziness of the no comrades people were unprepared for this element I think. https://twitter.com/ChicagoKennedy/status/1301558796599386120?s=19">https://twitter.com/ChicagoKe...
