The mega rich aren't salty because they'll be destitute if nobody wants to pay extortionate prices for their office space. They're salty because they'll be a bit less rich but still far wealthier than any human can reasonably spend in their lifetime.
And these people won't sell the commercial property that nobody wants to rent a unit in. They won't pivot their model to convert the space into something people might actually want to use. They'll just keep hoarding that empty building because they can afford to.
And that's why city centres may become ghost towns. Because greedy developers would sooner see an empty building than one which may benefit people, and would sooner own an empty building than sell it or change its use.
Because here's the thing: an empty, unused building retains more of its imaginary value than selling the fucking thing.
