why lana del rey is the OPPOSITE of a karen/republican/racist, and why the hate needs to stop: A THREAD
let me start off by saying that i am in no way telling you to praise or stan lana. i just want people to leave her the fuck alone, as she is still receiving constant and unnecessary hate.
the hate is mostly due to her controversial instagram post, which was badly misinterpreted by many. this deserves a thread of its own, but let me clarify that she never said anything bad about those women nor was she comparing her struggles to theirs.
here are some of the reasons why lana del rey is far from being a right-wing trumpie. feel free to add more.
lana sings about “being sexy, wearing no clothes, fucking, cheating” all the time. which means she wasn’t shaming the women she name-dropped for singing about those topics.
lana HATES trump.
lana is a LIBERAL and a FEMINIST.
lana broke up with her cop boyfriend. she went from literally fucking the police to saying “fuck the police”.
lana supports BLM and even went out to protest.
lana uses her platform for good.
she supports native american projects. half of the proceeds of her poetry book “violet bent backwards over the grass” would be going towards native american charities.
she supports and promotes small businesses and events. farm aid is an annual benefit concert held for american farmers.
she promotes lesser known artists.
some of her songs, many of which are in the album “lust for life”, are highly political. she advocates against war and gun violence and encourages her fans to care about social issues.
she loves the gays just as much as the gays love her.
lana loves the children.
she uses her fame to generate money for charity, such as performing at the amfar charity gala.
