#coronavirus #covid19 daily thread on the day #UK govt expected to announce changes to #TravelCorridor.

It's looking bad for #Portugal, but good for #Greece, and I expect #Sweden and #Bulgaria to finally be added to the safe list.
First #Bulgaria, which releases information right at the start of the day. Today's figure is 153, little change to the week before.
Bulgaria is way below EU standard 20/100,000 - it should have been added to #TravelCorridor last week, it's a certainty this week.

#Czechia is going the wrong way still. A record 656 cases of #Covid19 detected in last 24 hours. Definitely staying off the #TravelCorridor and won't be returning soon.
#Ukraine announces 2,430 new #Covid positive tests.
A fraction lower than yesterday but nothing to celebrate. #Coronavirus now showing signs of spreading to other regions. Interestingly 10% of those infected in #Kyiv are children.
Now a word about #SouthKorea.
The country had seen a resurgence of #Coronavirus, but it seems they've smashed the #SecondWave
Last Thursday saw 441 new cases of #Covid19 - highest for almost 6 months, but today just 195.
Regular followers will know #Hungary has been interesting me for a while with scary growth. Today the first glimmer of hope they can control the #SecondWave.
301 new #Covid_19 cases today, which is treble last Thursday. But it's 64 down on yesterday when I feared it could go up
#Hungary is an interesting case for @grantshapps & his team to discuss today. He said it was not all about the 7-day 20/100k figure but also infection rate increase. Well Hungary has been well above the red line for last 2 days with a steep curve - v.small chance of removal today
#Poland has posted its 4th successive drop in the 7-day-avg rate of #coronavirus infection
612 cases today, well down on 887 a week ago.
#Austria has no chance of being added back to #TravelCorridor today. 403 new cases announced, almost 25% up on last Thursday.

#Covid19 #coronavirus
Yesterday a chink of light for #Croatia
But as with all data, we need to wait 2-3 days to establish a trend. Today Zagreb announces big increase in new cases. The 7 day avg is now higher than it was 2 days ago, and stands at well over twice the EU's 20/100k "safe point"

It's quite plausible, & understandable, if data analysts/scientists advising the government want more data on Greek Islands. I've said all week UK is exporting the virus to islands. Positive local tests there, such as the 10 staff in 2 bars in Mykonos, will only show up today
