Before we begin, this thread talks at length about sexual assault in fanworks, specifically fanfic, and the idea of characterizing Goro Akechi as a rapist.

There seems to be this extremely wide and prevalent claim that ShuAke fans catagorize Goro Akechi as a rapist, specifically one who assaults Akira/Ren/Joker.

So I got curious to see if it's truly as widespread as people claim.

I used AO3 as my dataset. It's one of the most widely used and well-organized sites for fanfic in English-speaking fandom, so it would be a good petri dish for how the English-speaking fandom thinks.

I looked for four specific numbers.
- The full # of fics under the tag
- The # of fics tagged with Rape under the tag
- The # of fics tagged with Rape and marked as explicit under the tag
- The # of fics tagged with Rape and marked as explicit ONLY tagged with the ship tag

I'll go more in-depth as to why I chose these numbers specifically later.

The tags I looked at were:
- Persona 5 (Baseline)
- Akechi Goro/Kurusu Akira
- Kurusu Akira/Sakamoto Ryuji
- Kurusu Akira/Takamaki Ann
- Suzui Shiho/Takamaki Ann
