Was Jesus referring to Peter when he said "Upon this rock I will build my church"?

Some think it's Peter, Some think it's not, some are confused about the subject.

Let's look at the Truth about the statement.

Issa Thread 🔥🔥🔥
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matthew 16:18 NIV

let's look at what led to this statement, Jesus asked His Deciples , “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
Matthew 16:13 NIV
The deciples said “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
Matthew 16:14 NIV

Jesus now threw the question to His disciples "Who do you say I am"
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:16 NIV

Jesus said to Peter Jesus replied, “.....for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
Matthew 16:17 NIV
This was what lead Jesus to say "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matthew 16:18 NIV

Let's look at some old testament scriptures, remember Jesus is the fulfilment of Prophesies.
You dismissed the Rock who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave birth to you.
Deuteronomy 32:18 FBV

The Lord lives! Blessed be my rock! May the God who saves me be praised!
Psalms 18:46 FBV
He will be a sanctuary for you. But to the royal families of both Israel and Judah he will be a stone they trip over and a rock that makes them stumble, a trap and a snare to the people who live in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 8:14 FBV
You have forgotten the God who saves you; you have not remembered the Rock who protects you. So, even though you plant beautiful plants and grow exotic vines,
Isaiah 17:10 FBV

Time may not permit me to explain these verses to show you how they relate to Christ.
The Rock that gave water to the Israelites in the wilderness Paul made us understand that the Rock was Christ.

"and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ" 1 Corinthians 10:4 NIV
Through out the New testament Christ is clearly depicted as both the Foundation and the chief cornerstone of the church.
1 Corinthians 11:3 NIV says "For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."

I'm showing you clearly from the scriptures how Jesus is the Foundation that the church is built upon.
So now you can see that when Jesus said "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
Matthew 16:18 NIV
He wasn't referring to Peter. When Jesus said "You are Peter" the Greek Word for Peter is Petros which means a small or detached stone or rock
When Jesus said "upon this rock I will build my church" the word rock in the greek is Petra which means a huge rock or Bedrock. So this is clear that Peter wasn't the rock Jesus was referring to. So what was Jesus referring to?
It was Peter's Revelation that he received from the Father and his confession of Jesus as the son of God that becomes the "Bedrock foundation" For the Church. In other Words Jesus was speaking about Himself!
So Ladies and Gentlemen, JESUS IS THE ROCK!
