It's misleading to say 32% of people support Welsh independence because this figure is calculated by excluded don't knows etc. The latest poll has 25% saying they would vote for independence. Nonetheless, only 52% said they would vote against it. 1/3
The polls' suggestion that only just over 1/2 are opposed to independence is remarkable. Amongst those under 50 the figure is less than 1/2. Something is changing but at the moment it seems to be that opposition to indy is falling more than active support for it surging. 2/3
The don't knows could go either way. But you don't win them over by saying Britishness isn't real, people born in England don't belong here, or English versions of placenames will be removed. The economic argument is key. 3/3
