“If there is one message that echoes forth — let it be that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights.”

25 years ago this wk @HillaryClinton gave a momentous speech that will inspire for generations to come.

Thread w/speeches by women that inspire me—
“History, despite its wrenching pain,
Cannot be unlived,
And if faced w/courage, need not be lived again—

Lift up your eyes upon
The day breaking—

Do not be wedded forever
To fear, yoked eternally
To brutishness—“

Maya Angelou’s “On the Pulse of Morning”
“But, if you give us a chance—we can perform. After all, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards & in high heels!”

Ann Richard’s speech at the ‘88 #DNC was one for the ages. She would go on to become Governor of Texas.
“Ellen was as tough a negotiator as we could’ve had for the Russians.” -Hillary Clinton

The daughter of a shop steward from Jersey—the youngest woman to become a member of the NYSE—Ellen Tauscher was a giant. She is missed. I wish we lived in a world w/Hillary & Ellen in charge.
Lastly, it has been my long-held belief that our world would be a better place w/more women in charge. Men have had enough chances.

So it gives me great hope that—when you look at our rising leaders—so many are women.

I’m so proud to work for one of them.
