There were over 493 lynchings in Jason's home state of Texas. To say that people facing "violent mobs" is the most un-American thing ever....is to erase part of our origin story and by erasure deny and by denial bear false witness. Nobody in these images ever faced justice.

These mobs&organizations like the KKK &many others often aided&abetted by some of the law of the time represented millions of domestic terrorists who fought to pass on a generational fear of voting, owning a business, being educated or loving a human of another color.

These savages laughed while a naked man was burned alive as he swung from a tree. Where are their souls, Jason? Better yet where are the souls of their descendants as we speak? Where is their submission to a G-d who commanded not to murder?

They brought their children.

They displayed body parts in windows.

And the worst part is......

Wait for it.

Many of these people were murdering people who were their blood relatives through violations of 1000s of Black women during slavery.

Their own flesh and blood.

Don't you ever in your life tell me about heartbreaking.

The police harassed the Black community of Houston, Texas over 100 years ago and men serving in the military. Soldiers fought back. They were punished by a mass public lynching and mass incarceration probably working in chain gang slave labor. Texas, Jason. Texas.

Texas, a former Republic founded to thwart Mexican law outlawing slavery. A state where my white great great great grandfather was in the legislature. A state that was forced to let its enslaved population go free around 3 months after the Surrender&Emancipation.

And now there is a whole movement hellbent on rewriting American history taking no responsibility for neither its original sins or its pre-existing conditions while paying millions to deniers of Black trauma like Tucker, Rush and Ben. Millionaires duping you into hypocrisy.

We are tired of bearing all of this burden, tired of the hurt. We are tired of sleepless nights and knowing that ppl are encouraging Covid-19 exposure in our communities&the violence of evictions, food deserts, the defense of false Confederate idols over honoring the Living G-d

My fiance& I are both descendants of the enslaved and enslavers.

We confess the toxic history we both share while working towards a better America. But we don't lie or avoid. Thats how we heal.

My Alabama grandmother used to say "Don't lie to white folks. Don't let them lie to you. You don't do them no favors when they say it's raining while you feel piss on your head and you agree there's a downpour."
