An NBA talking head getting on social media and proudly claiming that giannis, the likely 2-time MVP, is "maybe a pippen" is both a really bad point on its own merits and also a great example of how toxic the NBA conversation often is
hey, please love our product, where we constantly tell you that maybe 2 players in the entire league are capable of leading a team to a championship at any given time
every other amazing player will be derisively likened to one of the greatest winners ever, because of how much they...can& #39;t win?
if you don& #39;t think this was always coming for giannis, you haven& #39;t been paying attention. and if luka doesn& #39;t win the title in the next 2 years, it& #39;ll come for him too.
basically if you aren& #39;t lebron, KD or kawhi, you aren& #39;t capable of being the best player on a winner is what we& #39;re told. oh but we also hate lebron, who is a loser and won& #39;t ever be MJ, but also one of the few capable of winning. let& #39;s also discredit everything durant does.
these are generational talents, the NBA& #39;s biggest stars, and all constantly maligned.

lebron: not mj
durant: couldn& #39;t do it on his own
giannis: "maybe a pippen"
curry: barkley said it wouldn& #39;t work right up until they won
harden: ball hog
dame: what has he REALLY accomplished?
CP3 is one of the greatest point guards of all time, was almost certainly the best player in this series, and dragged a team that had no business winning this series to the last moments of Game 7, and what were gonna get is “lolz another playoff loss for CP3 https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤪" title="Zany face" aria-label="Emoji: Zany face">”
