Anyway, it's a good question so thanks for sharing! Ada banyak pathway but the simplest advice I can give is to just start writing!

Kalau ikut style Hollywood, u can just write #specscript for existing shows; maksudnya u pilih lah your fav series or movies (Preferably local lah kalau nk job locally) and then tulis idea story u sendiri. Macam ala2 #fanfiction jugak lah. Lol
So your spec script can be like your resume.
A stronger resume would be to film your own scripts! Try to find friends and fellow filmmakers and start your own #shortfilm project.
This helps a lot as it can tell your future employers that u have production experience; maksudnya u know how to write with a limited budget and for a production team. This is very crucial sebab not all writers from other mediums have this experience and understanding.
As for companies, I’m afraid I’m not the best person to ask sebab kita mostly ada banyak exp dlm animation. Live action, not so much.
I’d suggest you follow some of the top #screenwriters I know in Malaysia for more insights on the live-action side:
@anwariashraf
@aza_mikitty
@LuqmanLSG

and many more! Always be on the lookout for local writers. Try looking for them in the credits, maybe? 😉
For animation, focus on animation companies that have their own IPs like @lescopaque @ChannelMonsta ( @BoBoiBoy) and Wau Animation ( @ejen_ali) sebab they would need writers for their show.
Kat Malaysia, ada banyak servicing companies yg pawe2. They’ve worked on international franchises BUT they don’t have their own shows so they don’t need writers.
This is just one of many, many paths to try. I hope this helps. Best of luck!
