Generic Cis White Guy Fits On Movie Posters Too Easily thread!

Made for Facebook events for a regular board gaming night, starting in 2012. The first happened when someone asked "But will there be games" and I replied "There Will Be Games" with this quick 'shop.

I liked that so I did another for the next. At first I put my roommate's head here, but he values his privacy so I swapped him out for my Boston Terrier "Loki".

Loki passed a few years ago. Best dog. I still miss him every day.
Once you start a trend it's difficult to stop. And yes, several people used my board game events as an excuse to drink too much.
The first image where I started adding actual gaming gimmicks. "The Godfather" normally has a puppet-strings setup, I changed it to dice, and my lapel pin is a pile of Catan Bricks.

Loki is now a regular appearance. I once forgot him & there was an outcry so I did a quick edit.
This one creeped people out, but that's their own problem.

Proud of the CaH card here, though zero interest in the game now.
I spent way too much time getting the logo on the soap right (and not quite enough making the heads fit properly)
My roommate & I joked that we only clean because of Game Nights.

We joke to hide the shame that it was true.

Many gamers from an r/vancouver social group attended, so "reddit" appears on a few of these.
This one was quick and easy because the original The Shining poster was too.
Another one with way too much time spent getting the logo right, plus a lot of work trying to get my face to look smooth and plastic.

I regret not changing the "LIGHTYEAR" name-tag to "LOKI".
Gaming Good, Breaking Bad.
Raiders of the Messy House. This one includes some of the gaming night regulars.
Really happy with this one, especially Loki's silhouette replacing the Batman logo.
Everyone rolls dice.
Not everyone really games.
"When my turn is over, you have my permission to roll the die."

The first with a full body shot. I'm face-palming and thought "Hey, that works for a Bane mask!"

The majority of time was spent on buildings and making them crumble in the Loki-head-logo shape.
"Rollsbad..."
Re-watched American History X recently and you can absolutely see how someone took the Nazi recruiting in it and just moved it online.

Loki's performance here is perfect.
I tinkered with "GAMURS" and "GAMERDS" to play with the intentional "BASTERDS" misspelling, but settled on this.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Armies attacking a robber on the desert. I watched six-sided dice glitter in the dark near the wood port. All those turns will be lost in time... like brick in early game..."

Probably my favorite.
How To Game With Your Boston

Arching that logo in Photoshop turned out way trickier than I thought.

I saw so much of Loki in Toothless.
If I was really talented I'd make a robotic version of my head. Instead I just do creepy stuff like this.

Yes, Loki is being propelled by farts. He's a Boston.
Another appearance of the game night regulars.

Couldn't get Gloria's green skin exactly right, but her hair was actually that color which helped a lot.
Turn the right corner in Game City and you can play anything.

Pretty sure this is the one that caused the "where's Loki!?" outcry, so I tucked him into a corner and reposted it.
"What makes you think this is my first game?"

Note the subtle Catan in the background, replacing London.
We played quite a bit of @alderac's Thunderstone, this was my homage to it and Looper.
This was a real rush job and it shows.
Not sure why I insisted on doing "Argo", but it forced me to make a joke based on a game we'd never, ever play on a board game night.
Some of you may recognize this game night regular as "Nintendo Switch Karen".
"You think you know how to play..."
GMs should be afraid of their players...
Getting even this close to matching Ahnuld's bronze skin tone was a real challenge. I have a monitor tan, and the Governator is almost bright-red in the original poster.
The games we play echo through... well, just my basement, really.
"I have a very particular set of development cards".

I really should memorize this monologue for the next time I play Catan.
You fool. No man can beat me at Catan.
Loki is looking dapper in his suit.
To know Joe Fulgham is to play games with him...
"I see dead tiles"
I'd make a joke using a line from this movie but absolutely nothing was memorable.
This is one that originally didn't have Loki, but after (another) outcry I put him in the bag.
I have no tattoos so I had to host a gaming night. That's how it works, right?
Say hello to my little friend.

[plays "Staff of Napalm"]
My mind is only spotless compared to my house, which isn't saying much.
I'm fairly confident Loki wasn't a figment of my imagination.
I'm an excellent gamer.
This was entitled "Me-Game-O" until I realized "embracing the failure" was far better than "fucking awful".
Yes, Loki was always this adorable.
"Joe and Loki know the difference between winning and losing; they just don't give a damn."
"Get off my wheat!"

Around this time finding posters to do started to get difficult, or so I thought...
"I feel the need... the need for wheat."
For our Breaking Bad finale party. My roommate made rock candy that looked like Walt's blue meth as well as Los Pollos Hermanos chicken.

I made this and the bag art for the chicken.
I still haven't seen this movie.
Life goes by pretty fast. If you don't stop and play some board games once in a while, you might miss it.
This one fell together so well that I worried I'd already done this poster.

I love Loki's "Soon..." look. He's obviously the betrayer.
"There's no way I'll have a head-shot of me and a photo of Loki to use here..." I said, like a fool.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good at games. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Eventually..
Yippee-ki-yay melon farmers.
Shiny!

Petition to have Adam "Garbage Alt-Right Guy" Baldwin digitally changed into a dog-head in all of Firefly.
"Let me tell you something. There's no nobility in losing. I've lost games, and I've won games. And I choose winning every fucking time."

(This isn't my attitude, FYI... I'm IN CHARACTER, OK?)
"With a soldier card in his hand, nothing stands in his way."
Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in.

So I ruin it with Photoshop.
Some believe that before the universe, there was nothing. They're wrong. There was dorkiness... and it has survived.

(The base of this was already a Photoshop making Thor hug Loki that made its way to being displayed in a theatre in China, but I couldn't resist)
It'll be a good game night, but you'll end up feeling like it was a calculated awards grab...
The only way you can beat my crazy play was by playing something crazy yourself.
Games of Future Past, so... Risk 2210?
A fairly accurate depiction of gaming in Vancouver.
This one with me and @IamDanielChai never did get used for some reason.
I hadn't even seen Edge of Tomorrow when I made this. Great movie!
"You do anything fun Thursday night?"

"Well, all the guys in my barbershop quartet are dead. So it's board games again!"
I didn't even have to change the top tagline!
This was another quick-and-dirty edit, but it turned out pretty well.
This one started as a desperate choice and ended up nearly perfect.

Loki's best appearance yet, IMO.
What's the most you ever lost on a die roll?
License to chill.
This was for @IamDanielChai's birthday, which pre-empted a game night so I made him a poster for his birthday event based on The Raid: Redemption.

I think that was his choice?
I often had this look when Loki was being weird, which was a lot.
Just another Thursday night...
In this expansion, the robber also clears the room with his farts.

"Well, Clarice - have the lambs stopped screaming long enough for you to buy a Development Card?"
What I'm saying is my basement is cold. Too subtle?
My motto is if you want to win the game you've got to come to game night.
And finally...

So anyway, yeah, I'm a Generic White Guy.
