I’m listening in on the zoom presentation my mom is attending for my brother’s senior class which is talking about how to “get ahead” through crafting your public image & being strategic with your resume, & like everything they’re saying I have never done -

Them: make a linked in! Get ahead on internships! Make connections! Your entrance to college is basically your entrance into the work force! So make sure to join networking clubs!

Me, who has only taken the bare minimum classes & has avoided talking to literally anyone for the past three years while barely holding onto the very very very tiny sliver of my mental health that hasn’t completely rotted:

Them: remember, your main goal is to visible and to make a large yourself known!

I’m basically the campus ghost, I just fade in and out of existence as I wander between classes and sit in the back of the class as small as I can as everyone forgets I’m even there
