After reading @toojazzy25's quote from @lenikacruz's @TheAtlantic piece on BTS, I've realized that there are two ways people may choose to view our fandom's way to organize and mass stream, etc..

there are those who choose to see it as an unhealthy hyper-consumption where the obsession is with numbers:

and then there are the takes that highlight how this is a way fans are able to circumvent gatekeepers in the industry in making their artists very popular and successful. (and getting them to notice the power and influence of their artists)
