Now let me take a moment to explain why this behavior right here isn’t helpful but manipulative: https://twitter.com/tylerrjoseph/status/1301305409198796807">https://twitter.com/tylerrjos...
He tweeted something distasteful at the expense of social issues going on right now. He got called out for it. His excuse is he can’t carry anymore of this because he’s already carrying so much “heavy” stuff. Now I can understand how yes, thinking about these issues
24/7 non stop will make you depressed. That’s why you DO something about it. I was so depressed when George Floyd was killed, but I didn’t push it aside. I took action. Signed petitions, shared links, donated what I could and PROTESTED. Even my father, who
at the time was going through CHEMOTHERAPY went to a BLM protest with me. As “heavy” as my issues and my fathers issues were, we knew we had to do something because silence in compliance. Doing something about it will lessen the depression it causes because you’re taking an
active role in fixing the problem. When it’s someone as big as this Tyler guy, literally ALL he has to do make an impact is tweet a petition. Legit. (Donating too) That’s thé bare minimum.
Now as to why what he’s doing it manipulative: he was told he did something distasteful and instead of apologizing he plays victim. He tweets about suicide prevention. He does this to in a round about way threaten to do it. He’s using it as a way to combat criticism.
It also shows his hypocrisy, that he CAN tweet a link to a cause he cares about. So why not for BLM? This dude disgusts me. End of thread, might add more thoughts later.
