Superfatties, where do you buy your tops/blouses/t-shirts? I'm in desperate need & all my usual go-to's are failing me.
For so long I felt relegated to Etsy bc it was the only place I could find 3x clothing I would want to wear. But now the sellers I like rarely have beyond 2x, if they have any plus sizes at all, & the clothes offered in my size are corny as hell.
Perpetually feel so much irony in my style being complimented by smaller folks, without any awareness of how difficult is for me to find clothes in my size--much less, clothes that are cute, fashionable, affordable, I would want to or could afford to wear.
Thin ppl & small fats have no idea the amount of labor it takes just to dress as a superfat person. And most retailers that do provide for my size stop just a size or two up from me--folks bigger than have it so much worse.
And before assumptions that clothing is trivial (which is just misogyny and femmephobia tbh)--so much of how we are interpreted by the world is based on dress. There is so much about race, gender, class, sexuality signaled by clothing...
and that's before even getting to personality, style, political alignment, or how clothing impacts self-esteem/self-image AND how attractive you are (or not) to others.
Fat people are excluded from access & then framed as unstylish, lazy, sloppy, unprofessional & unattractive--which informs how we are approached at the job interview, in the doctor's office, in the court house, at the leasing agency, etc. Everywhere.
