I'm really exhausted with the Gorgatron drama, especially stuff that stemmed from a ban I called in 2018. I made that choice not out of vendetta (why?) but because I had plenty of tips + public word throughout the years that I felt needed to be addressed for me to be doing my job
Yes, I had one gross encounter where I heard a member talking about sexual assault, whether it had been shock value or not, I knew this for several years before I made the call. I worked with that member in 2018. When the DV pictures of my coworker came out I definitely had-
prejudice but was open to listening to the alternative perspective because she too had been accused of things. I presented Gorgatron with a list of allegations, even after raven's doxxing, and said 'please address these and we'll talk' and nobody did
One of the side effects of being a promoter is that when you listen to anonymous allegations, you keep the allegations anonymous, you bare the brunt of the reprecussions. This figurehead concept has happened with other bands, many of you know who I talk about there.
Please remember Gorgatron specifically made a post asking people to come into my shop and harass me and my workers, give photo evidence, and get a discount. When my name was dropped in the comments, I faced reprecussions similar to doxxing.
My business got spammed, I got spammed, things about me and my shop were being posted by members with comments like " #triggered" and the attention actually was triggering, I'd been dealing with a regulat who'd wrote poetry about the inside of my house and showed up wherever I was
Anyways the allegations were stuff like "threatened to kill me" or "knocked my friends' teeth in" or "made some rape jokes" and I asked for was accountability. Cam showed up at shows, it was frustrating. Metal bands stopped working with me. It tanked my ability to promote metal
HELL Cam still mentions the Raven, like, a lot. Tags us in shit. People see, they just don't notice and or care.
As for it's affiliation with the noise scene..... the stationhouse hosts the noise scene, one of Cam's accusers is in the noise scene - a member Gorgatron redundantly provokes. I too am in the noise scene. This crossover is a repricussion of harassment.
I don't give a flying shit if you think noise is garbage, we're all sort of in on the joke lol. But. We are a group of primarily queers, and our relevance in the public scene is meaningful. It's bothersome that it's treated like some duel as if we are not constantly provoked.
I'm gonna be honest with you – I missed the drama before the major thread. I'm not asking anyone to like anybody.
However. What happened to me, what's happened to Brandon, what happened to raven staff, with the constant provocation IS an act of harassment.

Acts of harassment usually come with some sort of reprecussions. Outside of my ban at my venue, Gorgatron members - and you will find with many men in the scene- have really never faced any.
This precisely is why it is dangerous to give people like this platforms or authority.

If you don't think these things are harassment, it's 2020..... we don't play that old school bro culture game anymore... it's your job as an ally to any group to understand nuances
