A THREAD: On this day in 2014, I was working for ninemsn in the heart of the Sydney CBD. An email went around the building: The laminator had gone missing, could the person who took it please return it, or if anyone knew where it was, could they please come forward.

This was years before I knew I had ADHD, so I had little understanding of my compulsions, but on this day, I had a compulsion and I acted on it. I looked to my left. There sat @joshuabroccoli, lovely, hard working Joshua, the most unlikely of laminator thieves. Or was he?

I knew Joshua would never steal a laminator. Joshua knew Joshua would never steal a laminator ... but did the rest of the business know that?

I got to work.

I have no Photoshop skills, but I am a child of the 90’s Riot Grrrl aesthetic. I know how to make a collage with the best of them.

All I needed was some scissors, a glue stick and Joshua to have been foolish enough to have posted a picture of himself online holding something.

Bless his foolish little heart, Joshua’s Facebook was a goldmine.

I printed, I cut, I glued, I scanned and after about 30 minutes, I had all the proof I needed to expose ninemsn’s laminator thief.

Thankfully ninemsn also had a fairly lax ‘reply all’ email policy, which is how the entire building came to possess this very realistic and credible photo of @joshuabroccoli stealing office hardware. CASE SOLVED.
