"fans are pressuring a celebrity into talking abt politics" sure sounds awful for the celebrity until you realize that the politics in question are life or death for a lot of those fans and that celebrity's platform is several hundred times larger than any given fan

a celebrity making one tweet can be more impactful than entire threads by non-verified people with 5000 or less followers, so why shouldn't we expect action from the people who stand more of a chance at making a difference?
