A few years back, we did a live show at AwesomeCon in DC. I came down from Philly for the weekend, everybody traveled to make it happen, great night.
Well the next year, AwesomeCon says they cannot accommodate us for another live show. Weird, but you roll with the punches...

So we decide to do it ourselves. We called it NegroCon and it went off like magic.
My parents flew up, I got to meet and dap and hug (REMEMBER HUGS?) folks who until that point were twitter avatars and witty handles...

Remember: this is the group they said they didn’t have space for. So we sell out the venue in literal minutes. And being in front of y’all with @insanityreport @TheDrIsIn2015 @shittybonmots and @JaxxDynamite was like talking to friends I’ve known my whole life...
I mean, we were faci v an audience and being recorded so not exactly a 1:1 comparison l, but you get it.
Anyway, after the festivities were over and I gave my sound bite to the press, the party was on. And during the party I was able to steal some time with the headliners...
