True story: last fall, after a long day, responding to many, many student questions, I was rude to one of my students. They could have tweeted that out, & I would have looked like an asshole. (1/4)
I quickly realized that I was an asshole, so I emailed back and apologized. However, I am lucky that student didn& #39;t tweet my first response, because people would have probably piled on me here. (2/4)
Moral of the story: some people going viral for being an asshole to students are probably assholes, but some of these people probably aren& #39;t. Maybe they had a bad day or they& #39;re just living in a pandemic. (3/4)
So I am going to try to refrain from piling on people here. It& #39;s hard to know what& #39;s going on from just a tweet or two, so I am just going to try to cut people a little bit of slack. (4/4)
