CW: Descriptions of violence against women

Scott Moss’s tenure with SPD has been charmed. He married into the family of Major Billy Wright, a charter member of the Black Law Enforcement Association of WA, and spent much of his early career working in a high-profile position as a spokesperson for the dept

Then, in 2009, Moss was arrested again on allegations that he assaulted his spouse with a kitchen knife after she confronted him about his infidelity.

According to the charging documents, his wife alleged that he pushed her and cut her hands.

Moss was acquitted. His defense argued that his wife had self-harmed in the past. Shew was also opposed to Moss’s prosecution & wasn’t cooperative (Sadly, a running theme. Sgt. Ron Murray's victim also sought clemency/refused to cooperate. See yesterday's thread)

Less than a year after his acquittal, Moss was promoted to Sergeant.

Moss was arrested a third time in 2011, again for DUI. The arresting officer didn’t administer a breathalyzer on scene, blaming a dead battery.

By the time he was tested an hour and a half later, he was just below the legal limit.

In 2015, Moss was promoted again to Lieutenant in the West Precinct.

As a Lieutenant with more than 20 years on the force, Scott Moss is currently taking in $80/hr., which equals $166,400 annually
