• The Rise of Neo-Nazism in Somalia

• Unbeknown to many, the Nazi ideology has a deep rooted history within the Somali peninsula. This is a picture of Mogadishu in 1935, with Somali’s openly performing the Nazi Salute.

• Keen to gain their footprint in the movement, a delegatation of Somalis even attended a Nazi Rally in Italy in 1936. This picture, which even included the Somali Sultan Olol Dinle, was taken by Hitler’s personal photographer Heinerich Hoffman.

• Some are even attempting to suggest that Hitler may have even been of Somali origin. This is a divisive topic which even became a heated discussion at Speakers Corner. This is due to the fact that Hitler’s DNA haplogroup is one that is extremely common in Somali‘s.

• However, recently there has been a dangerous re-emergence in the support of a Neo-Nazi movement which seemingly the Somali people had left back in the early 20th century. Here stands a young man’s new TukTuk company in which his logo is the Nazi symbol.

• The catchphrase of the current government of Somalia Is “Nabad iyo Nolol”. This is meant to signify “peace and life (prosperity)” however this is far from the truth. In reality the NN abbreviation actually stands for “Nazi Noqo” which when translated means “become Nazi”.

• One incredible discovery I made was of a picture of the current President of Somalia. Mohammed Abdullahi or Farmaajo as he is more commonly known, in his youth seen sporting a Nazi style arm band.

• In addition to this, his recently voted out Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre was also seen performing Nazi salutes and gestures. Rumours suggest that Farmaajo had him removed for being too open about his love for the fascist ideology.

• The “Nazi Noqo” regime has however shown blatant Anti-Semitism. This was seen when the President’s key advisor Dr Baadiyow suggested that the fall of the Somali Republic was due to “Israel wanting to 'weaken' the Muslim states”. This is not too dissimilar to Nazi propoganda.

• The NN regime even has a dedicated propoganda team led by @AbdiBarud. Two well known members of the team are @KingYusufYusuff and @SomPundit. When questioned on his alleged links to the Nazi Noqo movement @KingYusufYusuff blocked me.

• With Somalia’s elections delayed it is being suggested that Farmaajo is simply waiting for the right time to announce that he is to become the Führer of Somalia. There are also worrying reports that he wishes to change the star in the Flag of Somalia to the Nazi symbol.

• We as citizens of Somalia appeal to the International Community to help curb the spread of this dangerous ideology which has infected the nation and is rapidly turning the youth into fascists. #NoMoreNN
