Remember Geoff mentioning the power of attorney Yasmeen has made? We think he’s pulling a fast one, so thought we’d address a couple of things! #Corrie

Someone independent - a certificate provider - should make sure Yasmeen isn’t forced into making a power of attorney against her will. With Geoff’s history of abuse, we’d investigate any suspicious behaviour if this was reported during or after registration of the LPA #Corrie

Yasmeen is in hospital after suffering a heart attack, but she hasn’t lost mental capacity. This means Yasmeen can still make decisions for herself. Geoff wouldn’t legally be able to use an LPA to make financial decisions unless she& #39;d agreed to this when signing the forms #Corrie

Geoff told Alya that he’d used the lasting power of attorney to change suppliers at Speed Daal. But put simply, he can’t do that. All decisions would need to be made in the best interests of the donor (Yasmeen) and with Ayla’s consent as the part owner #Corrie
