On a serious note, though, this is really important, and it means a lot to so many of us. Star Trek has been such a constant comfort to me throughout my life, but even in a show that is built on celebrating the diversity of the universe, I've never really seen myself in it.

Representation, and the chance to see yourself reflected in a media that is such a core part of your identity, is so validating and assuring. I didn't think I'd ever get to see it. So, thank you @startrekcbs for making this a reality.

It is SO important that Star Trek - and the fandom large - recognise, accept, and celebrate the fact that Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations includes trans people. It includes BIPOC. It includes LGB people. It includes all of us, and that's what makes Trek so special

This is a very convoluted way to say: I love star trek, I love my trans family, and I sure as hell love seeing our vibrant and resilient community finally represented on screen.
