Been seeing the people talk about Sonic 2020 and how the creator is now trying to make profit off the fangame. I think now is an appropriate time to say this:

I do NOT like Sonic 2020, and I'm not just talking about the recent #BoycottSonic2020 situation. The game- (thread)
itself was a huge PAIN IN THE ASS for me. I've been seeing people go on and on and talk about how "good" the game is and how they wish Sonic games could be like this. I've seen videos of people like Blue Vivacity play this game and everyone not only in the Youtube comment-
sections praise the living hell out of this game, but the people on Twitter as well. Most likely for it's wonderful cutscenes and much more. All I did see however was just the first stage gameplay, and I thought it looked alright, and I really thought to myself, "Maybe I should-
check this game out" and check it out, I did... First off, I'll give them this. The cutscenes ARE fascinating and impressive. The visuals of the game are really outstanding. Matter of fact, TOO outstanding to the point where there is just too much going on and it kind of-
distracts you from focusing on the gameplay. Not to mention, the first stage is kind of alright despite the issues with the visuals being too distracting, but the second stage, however, is where things start to fall flat. It's where this game shifted from speeding action-
stages to a puzzle stage, and let me just say, Puzzle stages do NOT mix well in Sonic games at all. Hint rings scattered all over the place, too many platforms while the camera is SHAKING, switches hidden in random places, overall confusing level design. Also, this stage took me-
about 30 MINUTES TO BEAT. 30 FUCKING MINUTES TO BEAT A SONIC STAGE. HOLY FUCK MAN. WHEN PEOPLE SAID THEY WANTED SONIC STAGES TO BE LONGER, I DIDN'T THINK THEY MEAN THIS, but yeah. That was the second stage. Frustrating, but still managed to beat. THE THIRD STAGE IS WHAT GOT ME.
In the third stage, you basically have to hurry out of the place as fast as you can before the water gets you. Most people who played this section managed to do just fine. ME, HOWEVER, IM GETTING MY ASS BEAT BY THE FUCKING WATER EACH AND EVERY TIME. I was even going at TOP SPEED-
trying to get as many rings and hit as many badniks as I can to keep FILLING up the boost gauge since it drains so QUICKLY and even still, I got my ass beat. Apparently, I wasn't running fast enough. Several, SEVERAL retries of this section, and I think I had enough of it.
The third stage was SO BAD, I couldn't even FINISH it. I had to go through so much frustration with this particular stage. I just completely quit, put the entire game in the recycle bin, wiped it off my computer, and never took another look at it again. Again, the cutscenes, and-
the visuals for this game are outstanding, but I just can't say the same for the level design and cameras. Gameplay and physics is basically The Infinity Engine, which doesn't match 2/3 of the level design at most times. The cameras are tough as hell to work with and the motion-
blur doesn't make things any better. 2/3 of the level design in this game sucks. I only liked the first stage and that's it. Overall,Sonic 2020 is wack. The only good this game has are once again, cutscenes and visuals, and if that's the case, this would've been better off a fan-
movie or something. Now addressing the creator making profit off this fan game. Honestly can't say much about it, but seeing that it's gonna open up to possible risks for all fangame creators, I can see why this needs to be addressed. Aside from all that, Sonic 2020 is not good.
