The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Helena. It says @GovernorBullock's directive for mail ballots is unconstitutional. It accuses Bullock of creating a system that "will violate eligible citizens’ right to vote." #mtpol #mtnews
The filing says, "Rushing to automatically mail ballots to all voters invites fraud, coercion, theft, and otherwise illegitimate voting." The suit says the Dems wants vote-by-mail because it helps their "electoral prospects" and calls it a power grab by @GovernorBullock #mtpol
The court docs address the U.S. Senate race between @GovernorBullock and @SteveDaines as one of the most competitive in the country and accuses Bullock of issuing this directive to sway the election in his favor. #mtnews #mtpol

The suit asks for a judgment that the directive violates the Elections Clause, Electors Clause and 14th Amendment. It asks for a permanent injunction prohibiting the state from enforcing the directive, and also attorneys' fees. #mtnews #mtpol
