I have chronic Lyme disease, and had to take myself to the E.R. this morning. My visit was bc I can barely walk.

When I was determined a safe risk I was led inside the waiting room. Guess what? It was empty af.

I waited for the doctor. I was in bad shape. They had me hooked up to a hear machine, I.Vs and some other crap. I told the doctor I have chronic Lyme disease, and the doctor told me that’s not a real thing, and that I need 30minutes in the MRI machine.

I explained that 3 years ago, TWO separate doctors told me I did NOT have Lyme disease and sent me away without testing me. I went back a 3rd time, was tested, had Lyme disease. Guess what? By now I’d miss the window for effective antibiotic treatment.

Why can’t she just treat me with antibiotics and when the Lyme test results return, if they’re negative, I’ll do the MRI.
No, they can’t treat me with antibiotics without first getting ANOTHER diagnosis.

B/C if the test returns negative, I will have endangered the entire community unnecessarily by lowering everybody’s resistance.
I told her this offended me. And I reminded her of the giant jugs of hand sanitizers I had to deep dive into every time I turned a new corner.

Here’s where it got ugly: I told the “doctor” that I will NOT be having the unnecessary MRI and that I will be leaving, and I will await the test results at home.
I was threatened that if I left I would be forced to pay cash for my visit. Penalty: no insurance

The doctor left and wouldn’t allow the nurse to come see me. I rang the bell until a fucking security guard came in and said the doctor refuses to see me.
What was I to do?

I yanked the heart machine stickers and wires off my body, I got dressed, and when the nurse still refused to come help me, I yanked a big bloody needle thing out of my arm and I left. I hope I dripped blood the whole way out the door.
