Until 2019, only Brazil, Malta & Ecuador had adopted nationwide bans on #ConversionTherapy. Last year, I started to engage the international community on the issue. Follow the thread to see which governments have taken steps to protect #LGBT people from such abhorrent practices.

In 2020, Albania & Germany have adopted national legislation restricting practices of #ConversionTherapy. Local bans have also been introduced in regions of Australia, Canada, Mexico, Spain and the United States.

France, Israel and Norway currently have bills under discussion that would establish nationwide bans. The Netherlands, New Zealand, Taiwan, The United Kingdom, as well as Australia, Canada and Spain have also committed to introducing national bills addressing #ConversionTherapy.

Last month, Facebook & Instagram also pledged to bar content promoting conversion therapy from their platforms.
