Manifestation: a thread

A definition of manifestation is: ‘something that is put into your physical reality through thought, feelings, & beliefs.’ Manifesting has been popping up everywhere recently, whether on TikTok or Youtube, it’s become a trend but what is it & should Christians be doing it?

Manifestation is a New Age practice. New Age beliefs are characterised by the heavy emphasis on spirituality & mysticism. Other common New Age practices include the law of attraction, energy healing (reiki), tarot cards etc.

Manifesting is the practice of asking the universe to give you something through thoughts, feelings, & actions. Similar to the law of attraction, those practicing are encouraged to send out positive energy believing that they will receive positive things in return.

Manifestation & the New Age though deceptive in presentation, is darkness disguised as light. However God is the true light. Light & darkness do not mix, you can’t dabble in New Age practices & while fully worshiping God. (1 John 1:5-7)

The bible gives clear instructions about how Christians should view spirituality & mysticism as they are completely empty of God.

Manifestation is very real, it’s not fun & games or part of an aesthetic. I’ve previously written about how the spiritual realm is far more real than many of us think & we need to be aware of the impact it has on our spiritual health & relationship with God.

These things ultimately lead to destruction. See John 10:10.
If something is not of God & doesn’t lead to heaven it is of Satan & leads to hell. Why stumble in darkness when Christ has come so that we may walk in the light?
