Back in 2003, I picked up a pre-owned copy of Silent Hill 2 for £8. It took me about 8-10 hours to beat it the first time through.
Since then, for the last 17 years, I don't think a week goes by where I don't think about it. It changed how I look at and interact with all forms of media. I've spent countless hours on forums, talking about it with other like-minded people.
I've made bad fan art of it, I've written dissertations on it, I've watched countless hours of youtube videos about it.

Everyone I get close to has to sit down with me while I play it through it it's entirety because I need them to experience it with me.
What is the cost-to-time ratio of a piece of art that makes it worth the money?

Because this one roughly a 5-8 hour long game, it would have been £40 on release. That has kept me entertained and intellectually involved for 17 years.
This isn't a subtweet, just something I've been thinking about when people attribute a dollar-to-hour ratio on games.

It seems like an odd way of thinking about it.
