1/4 I believe you reap what you sow- be wary of a faith that does not hold you to a higher standard. We only grow if we are challenged to overcome temptations, personal weaknesses, and imperfections.

2/4 I have friends who have turned from “organized religion” to “spiritualism”. I work with a few ExMos who flaunt the fact that they are now “free” and can eat/drink/wear/say/do whatever they want. You always had agency. You were always “free”. You’ve chosen not to improve.
3/4 The same is true for the half of my family that isn’t LDS (Dad is a convert). They frequently tell me I should come to their church because their pastor *lets* them do whatever they want, and they only *have to* go to church on holidays.
4/4 this shows a misunderstanding of the purpose of religion- we are supposed to grow and become perfected in Christ. Any “religion” that embraces the vices and temptations of the world will not help you achieve a higher standard.
