Let me get this right.

The more I have read the more concerned I have been getting.

The NDIA aren't going to provide medical reports and assessors won't have access to them. And you won't get more time or money to assess us properly if we are medically complex.
2/ Here's a tenderer out for the main chance. Can we still use you after you've assessed us in our twenty minute quick and dirty assessment?

No.
3/ Some of this material is flat out terrifying. Because I cannot see any low level physio or speechie knowing to ask any of these questions and I can see a bunch of disabled people not knowing to tell them. And a casual mention of restrictive practices, as well as carer stuff.
4/ Then we go into the actual assessment summary, which I am sure isn't supposed to be a public document, but hey, if you send out a raft of material to allied health professionals who are concerned about the people they support, it's bound to happen.

These tests will fail us.
5/ And here is the best of fun things to do when an assessor is in your home, @CraigWtweets. They are going to watch us make a cup of tea. Play with our carers. Wash hands. Hang out the washing.

Interact with family members. PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN holy fuck. Like zoo animals.
6/ There is more - a lot more. But - have you seen enough, people? Can you imagine this? These people coming into your homes, into your lives, the THREAT of these people hanging over you at any time in your life?

We will not do this. And this is what they are relying on.
7/ The problem is, for those who rely on daily support, or at least SOME support - we can't stay alive without it. So the choice to exit the scheme is also a choice to exit life. Whatever that looks like. It might mean dying in a chair like Ann Marie. It might mean suicide.
8/ This is what I think. And others, too. We think that they have identified that the NDIS is revenue and they are implementing these measures to ensure there are 'savings' and 'surplus'. They are going to strip our support bare and throw out as many disabled ppl as they can.
9/ I think they are going to do this for as long as it takes to go wrong, which won't be very long, and then they'll devolve the NDIS into DSS during a cute 'restructure' process with much fanfare about participant pathways and scheme sustainability. Covid will be mentioned.
10/ I think the data would be collected and collected but only the data they want to collect. Nothing about thin markets or our suicides or how much we are able to achieve with the support we get. There will only be select data and the rules will get tighter and harder.
11/ If you've read this far, you will be thoroughly depressed - most of us are. But then there is this.

We will not be letting this happen. We will be in this fighting for our lives. And there are hundreds and thousands of us and we are fucking angry.

And we vote.

Get ready.
12/ We are coming. All of us. To save OUR ndis. #ndiscrawl #stopthetender
