This September, it is inevitable that things are rough around the edges and that distance learning start awkwardly. Teachers are the front line workers who will hear our complaints. Parents are going to be incredibly frustrated and angry.

So I’ve got one small parental request:
Laugh about this with your child’s teacher. Realize it’s all a mess. Work to help improve the situation. And remember that it was Ford and Lecce who scribbled this plan on the back of a napkin after the bars had been opened. Use the anger as fuel, and assign blame appropriately.
I am looking for ways to move my advocacy off of Twitter memes and 240 characters. I’ve decided that being a supportive parent of my children’s’ learning is a radical act. It involves a tremendous amount of work to truly be this type of parent—not just this year, but every year.
