After talking (a lot) with my kids and helping them answer texts and social media posts, it has become very clear that we ALL need to understand what does (and does not) lead to a student, teacher, or any other human to need to quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure. (Thread)
The chart below is super helpful. I hope you will save it, print it, share it, and, most importantly, discuss it with your children. This comes from @HealthyOklahoma and is based off of @CDCgov guidelines, so it applies to everyone. #oklaed #okleg
If you don’t want to quarantine, then, as much as possible, stay more than six feet away from other people. If you spend 15 minutes within 6 feet of someone and they get sick within 48 hours, you need to quarantine for 14 days. Thus, the key is to keep that social distancing.
If you don’t want to get sick, stay more than six feet away from other people, wash your hands, and wear a mask. It really is that simple.
We are all in this together and must each do our part to ensure our schools, businesses, and churches can be successful. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need to talk through the chart to make sure you are making the right decisions.
Finally, if you read this thread, rolled your eyes, and thought “I knew that”, then you need to share it. I promise you, there are a lot of students and parents who don’t know this, and until they do, we will continue to see the number of students in quarantine spiral upwards.
