Reuzegom was an elite student club, exclusive for males that came from Antwerp. There were around 20 members, all coming from wealthy families. Children of CEO’s, lawyers, judges, doctors, a governor and a baron. They were active in KU Leuven, one of Belgium’s best universities.
In order to join Reuzegom, every ‘schacht’ (a greenie, person that wants to join the club) has to partake in a ceremonial ritual. Sanda Dia was one of them. The ritual lasted two days.
These are some things that were part of the ritual
• Drink a liter of gin in a short amount of time
• Drink several liters of beer
• Eat a fat cake (intended for birds)
• Swallow a living goldfish
• Drink fish oil
• Drink the urine of the members several times
• Drink a liter of gin in a short amount of time

• Stay naked inside a well for several hours, with ice cold water, in 5-6 degrees Celsius
Reuzegom also cut the hair of Sanda, insulted him multiple times by calling him the N-word and urinated on him. Reuzegom also taped all the faucets off, so the ‘schachten’ couldn’t hydrate or clean themselves.
When the other two ‘schachten’ realised that something was wrong with Sanda, they asked for help. Nobody helped them. Hours went by before the members of Reuzegom saw how severe the situation was.
The leader of the club and a few others put Sanda in their trunk and drove to the nearest hospital. The other members stayed behind and covered everything up. They got rid of all the evidence.
Prior to the murder of Sanda, Reuzegom had a mascot, a little pig. They mistreated and slaughtered the animal. They also sang colonial songs in front of a black person.
What did KU Leuven do? They disbanded the club a day after the death of Sanda Dia and made them write a paper. No further action was taken by the university.
This happened in 2018 and the murderers still walk free, they were never detained. The trial starts in a few weeks.
