California SB145 ( https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200SB145) lets offenders skip registering as a sex offender if they’re 10 years older than the child, at least between ages 14-17. So a 24 year old can skip registering if he molested a 14 year old.

Of course, the sponsor of the bill is a Mr. Weiner, of San Francisco. “Equality California” touted the bill because letting 24-year-olds violate teens without registering as sex offenders helps “create a world that is healthy, just, and fully equal for all LGBTQ people.”
You’re a homophobic bigot (I guess) if you want such people called “sex offenders.”

Kamala Harris, when a prosecutor, was a big champion of treating trafficked kids as victims (which of course they are) and not prosecuting them.

Now, thanks to Weiner and Harris, kids can be trafficked in California (think: rich Silicon Valley execs), and traffickers don’t have to worry about their rich johns being labeled sex offenders, and the teen prostitutes don’t have to worry about arrest!
