It's a natural tendency to prefer market leaders in any industry.
When it comes to electronics, I would prefer Chinese products over Indian ones because of Chinese expertise, economies of scale, and production for exports ensuring quality.
Given every notable name outsources manufacturing/assembly to China, if one is to buy a non Chinese electronic good, say for eg a laptop, what option would one have?
Not saying coz I'm looking for non Chinese alternatives, but for the educated ones beating their chests to ponder.
Say for instance I was looking for a laptop, looked across brands, but no one except the Chinese company Lenovo offered the specifications I wanted within my budget (economies of scale). I wouldn't shun a good product just because its country of origin is China.
Similarly when it comes to garments/apparel, given how Bangladesh has captured export market, I would prefer a Made in Bangladesh label over Made in India because with the former, I can be assured of the quality since it's an export quality item being shipped across the world.
So all those cheering about Indian apps replacing top Chinese apps on Play Store would be stuck with substandard apps. If they had potential, they would have been top apps even before their Chinese competition was banned.
Meanwhile let's all play Indian #PUBG.
