Lord True has just told me, in an oral PQ on trade in services with the EU, that ‘the British people voted to leave the Single Market’.

That is untrue. They were not asked that question in the 2016 Ref. And prominent Leavers assured them there was no question of leaving the SM.

Brexiter rewriting of history now utterly blatant & shameless, safe in the knowledge that it’s only people like me - to be dismissed as ‘Remoaners’ - who notice, & they will not be picked up by most of the media, bar maybe excellent journalists like @pmdfoster & @IanDunt

Correction: Lord True actually said ‘the people of the UK voted to leave the single market.’
Which makes his falsehood even worse because not only did Scots (GB) reject leaving the EU but the Northern Irish (UK) did too (as did London)
And of course leaving SM was not on ballot
