I've been trying to write this thread for a while now but events this morning have motivated me to get going on it.
A thread on the weaponisation of child sex abuse(CSA).
1/
Im a survivor of CSA.
It began 31 years ago and was done to me by my Mother's brother.
He has since admitted his guilt(he pleaded guilty in open court) and served a prison sentence for it.
I spent 11 years abusing alcohol, drugs and myself.
I'm in a much better place now.
View myself as a survivor rather than a victim.
But I deal with the consequences daily.
2/
More and more I see people using the abuse of children as a weapon against others.
This morning I witnessed someone justify the executions of the two people in Kenosha by Kyle Rittenhouse based on the fact that they may have been child abusers.
I don't know if they were or not
3/
I doubt that the shooter knew either.
But yet again we see people use any excuse to justify whatever bullshit they want to believe in.

I see the same with certain people who cry foul about the Muslim grooming gangs in the UK.
4/
These people will shout and scream about what one group of people, who happened to be Muslim, did to children while simultaneously ignoring the abuse carried about by Christian churches. Or the fact these churches often protected the abusers from facing justice.
5/
I've pointed out 2 extreme examples of something that absolutely triggers and revictimises me personally, I wouldn't presume to know how it affects other survivors.
But there are many other smaller examples of how people like to use CSA as a weapon against opponents.
6/
Here's the confession.
I've done it myself!

The point to this thread is maybe to highlight the issue and to ask each and everyone of the fantastic people I follow or who follow me to think long and hard before they throw CSA into an argument or conversation.
7/
Ask yourself is the topic of CSA being brought as a legitimate issue or as a weapon to lash out at someone I disagree with?
It does no survivors any good if its the second part of the last question.
In fact, it can do the world of harm.
