Combine is back moving, and while I wait it gives me chance to have a walk over 80ac of Oilseed Rape, drilled on the 10th August and land was mucked and ploughed. No sign of #CSFB 🙏🏻. So far, so good!!
A last chance saloon for us after last years disaster. 200ac which established well, but was then decimated by CSFB despite insecticide applications at dusk and dawn every few days. Last piece was ripped up in the spring and planted with maize. A costly failure!
We hear over and over from @trussliz & #GeorgeEustice that our standards will not be lowered - yet we are already importing OSR and cereals grown using chemicals banned in the UK, including produce coming in from the EU!
No other country has a farm assurance scheme like we do, so how can we guarantee that import standards meet our production? Or is it just convenient words from @trussliz et al ?
Cereals & oilseeds enter our food chains with no knowledge of production methods, chemicals used (legal in UK or not) or when, harvest intervals etc. On arrival it has 2 tests... moisture, more to do with price, and random salmonella tests. Does that meet our standards @trussliz
