Never heard of AK Interactive before today, and the publicity looks bad, really bad. It does make me wonder about how art and wargaming should tackle the darker side of historical conflicts though.

Should it only focus on the "heroic romantic" view of soldiers and ignore the cruel inhuman aspects of many conflicts? The Waffen SS were closely involved with genocide and mass murder of civilians. The Red Army used rape as a weapon of retribution against Germany.

Is depicting all these, and other problematic warmongers, in neutral, or positive ways also profiting from suffering?

Making miniatures of gas chambers seems incredibly insensitive and bad taste, and this thread is probably in the area of "whataboutery". It's not meant as a defence of AK. But the furore gives me a lot more questions than answers. (6/6)
